| PORTABLE MEASURING ARM FROM CIMCORE |
A highly competitive low cost portable measuring arm with six axes and 540 degrees rotation, automatic probe identification, lightweight carbon fibre construction and arm lengths up to 4.6 metres means the Cimcore Stinger II is ideal for on-site measurement and reverse engineering tasks in any orientation across a wide range of applications and industries.
Available from Europac Metrology of Crewe, the Stinger II portable measuring arm has an accuracy of +/-15 microns, on-the-fly quick change probing without re-calibration through intelligent probe recognition technology and is available with Delcam's highly rated PowerINSPECT software.
Stinger II can be specified with arm lengths of 1.8m, 2.4m, 3.0m, 3.6m, 4.6m. These arm lengths enable measuring volumes up to 51m cubed to be probed in a single operation. Being constructed out of carbon fibre, some 25 times more stable than aluminium, the arm is both light in weight at between 3.6kg and 5.4kg for largest 4.6m reach and highly robust. It also has the added advantage of being very easy to use without the operator becoming fatigued.
Also due to its light construction, Stinger II is easy to transport in its own wheeled carry case and quick to set up. In the standard package, three different sizes of intelligent probe, and mounting plate are included.
As optional equipment, a wide variety of application specific probes are available including non-contract tube and laser probes, laser tracker probes and punch probes. In addition, a touch probe using strain gauge technology is available for point-to-point measurement and automatic scanning.
