| NEW MOVE IS A MEASURE OF SUCCESS |
Due to continued expansion brought about by accelerated sales growth, EuroPac 3D has increased staff levels and relocated to a new purpose built lab facility in the heart of Crewe.
The spacious, space age environment comprises a modern office suite, training facility and large temperature controlled and air conditioned laboratory. The new base is designed to complement EuroPac 3D’s unique position as the only UK based company able to calibrate and service Cimcore portable measuring arms.
Such is the quality of EuroPac 3D’s work that a number of key automotive design studios has recently been added to the client portfolio.
The 15 year old company not only works within the motor industry; film and TV companies have also taken advantage of its advanced technology in the scanning and reproduction of models for film sets.
Technical Director Mark Beckett said: “EuroPac 3D were recently approached by a major film company to scan a model of a castle to be used as a set backdrop. The definition required was critical as the castle featured throughout the film. We’re not allowed to mention the title but it was a huge film and it’s really quite a thrill to see the model come to life on the big screen”.
3D scanning, digital modelling and reverse engineering is a rapidly expanding market and has wide, positive implications for industry. Objects of virtually any size can be scanned and time to market is drastically reduced due to the speed of prototyping.
Managing Director John Beckett added: “EuroPac 3D is a one stop shop for the provision and application of precision scanning equipment used for reverse engineering, digital modelling and inspection, we are rapidly gaining ground throughout Europe and North America with our software and equipment sales and bureau service - the future of 3D measurement is already happening here in Crewe.”
